PHILOSOPHY

The GIMSAR believes that:

  • Nursing as a profession and a discipline utilizes knowledge derived from arts, sciences, humanities and human experiences. Nursing science incorporates clinical competencies, critical thinking, communication, teaching learning, professionalism, caring and cultural competency.
  • Scopes of nursing and midwifery practice encompasses provision of promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative aspects of care to people across the life span in a wide variety of life setting.
  • Keeping in view all these, the nursing education programme is broad based education within an academic curricular framework, structured and by INC, directed to the development of critical thinking, skills, competencies appropriate to human and professional values.
  • The faculty as role model, create learning environment through interaction process which facilitates cultivation of critical thinking, curiosity, creativity, enquiry driven self directed learning and attitude of lifelong learning in students.

VISION

The vision of GIMSAR is to develop a centre of excellence in nursing which encompasses the overall development of nursing as a profession and discipline to prepare the students to become exemplary citizens by adhering to the professionalism and fulfilling personal, social and professional obligations so as to respond to national aspirations.


MISSION

The mission of GIMSAR is to:

  • Provide quality education and facilities to train/ guide the students in the field of practice, education, management and research so that they can emerge as qualified nurse who will be competent enough to function within their scope of practice globally.
  • Prepare as caring professional nurses for delivering, safe care, coordinating/ managing by being active participant with professional team members and demonstrating self responsibility and accountability for practice as well as to support the profession.
  • Create learning environment with competency based, transformational, relationship based educational approaches through the program integrity mastery learning and self directed learning.
